NORWAY — National Library Week is April 11 to 16, and Norway Memorial Library is providing special reasons to visit the library during the week.
Calling it a Library Fair Day, the highlight of the week will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. There will be refreshments all day for patrons to show staff appreciation of their support.
For children there will be a special celebration, “Make A Book,” that combines an Earth Day focus with National Library Week on Wednesday, April 13. To register a child for the program, call the Children’s Room at 743-5309, ext. 4, or stop by the Children’s Department and talk with Anna Gordon.
In addition throughout April, the library will offer a fines amnesty for overdue materials returned.
Finally, the library will celebrate National Library Week with the annual Adopt-A-Book. It is an opportunity to give a children’s book to the library by choosing from a selection of picture books on display opposite the circulation desk. A book plate is placed in the front of the chosen book with the donor’s name or the name of a child, relative or friend the donor wishes to honor.
For more information about National Library Week events, call the library at 743-5309, ext. 1, or check the website at www.norway.lib.me.us.
