TURNER — One hundred eighty four voters turned out in Friday’s nor’easter to cast their ballots for six positions.
Ralph Caldwell beat incumbent Selectman Richard Keene, 104-80, for a three-year position.
Kurt Youland had 156 votes in his unopposed bid for a one-year term to replace Selectman Jeff Sterling. There were five write-in votes for the position.
Elizabeth Bullard ran unopposed for a three-year term as Regional School Unit 52 director. She received 167 votes. There was one write-in
Five members were needed for three-year terms on the Budget Committee. Steven Maheu received 139 votes, Sandra Philipon received 159. They were the only candidates on the ballot. Meghan Jackman was elected by write-in and two positions on the committee remain unfilled.
The annual town meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Leavitt Area High School cafeteria. There are 66 articles on the warrant, including 13 ordinances. The proposed budget is $2.68 million.
