DEAR SUN SPOTS: Before I close my camp for the winter, I’d like to get some screens repaired. They go to the slider deck doors and were ripped by my grandson’s dog so he said he would pay to have them replaced if needed.

ANSWER: I suggest you contact Josh Caron through Main Street Music Lessons in Auburn (mainstreetmusiclessons.com, 376-3376). He teaches drum lessons and may know of others in his musical network.

Another idea would be to put the word out at the area high school where upperclassmen may welcome the opportunity to mentor your son. You also may want to try doing the same by contacting the music department at Bates College (bates.edu/music/) or the University of Southern Maine (https://usm.maine.edu/music).

ANSWER: I checked out the website you offered, Kathy, and am impressed with Auburn Recreation Department’s beautifully designed brochure that describes programming for all ages. Kudos to whoever did all the hard work in putting this together.

There are several options including for 50-plus individuals who are life-long learners, or just want to have fun and meet people. There are opportunities for autumn walks, crafting, chair yoga, shopping, apple-picking, lunch out, a winery visit, and even hiking with goats and grandkids!

Tech Talk Fridays is offered once per month (Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12, and Dec. 10) at the Auburn Senior Community Center from 10 to 11 a.m. You can bring your device and your questions.
