AUGUSTA — Police are searching for a female suspect who reportedly robbed the Big Apple convenience store at 36 Stone St. early Monday.

A woman entered the store at about 3:40 a.m. and showed a weapon, which officers declined to identify, and demanded money, according to city police.
The suspect got an undisclosed amount of money from the store and fled before police arrived.
Police described the suspect as a white female, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and wearing a black top, dark mask and blue jeans.
Augusta police asked that anyone with information about the incident or the identity or whereabouts of the person involved contact the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at 207-626-2370, Ext. 3435.
Monday’s reported armed robbery was not the first at the Stone Street Big Apple. In 2019, city police responded to separate armed robberies in January and February.
