LISBON — A Lisbon Falls man has been indicted on charges stemming from a crash at the start of the year that left another man with serious injuries.
Adam Gamage, 31, of 54 Main St., was indicted on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving to endanger.
According to the indictment, Gamage was drunk and driving recklessly Jan. 4 when his pickup truck crossed the centerline on Route 196 and plowed into two other vehicles.
Police said Gamage was driving east near Lisbon Family Practice when his pickup crossed the highway and struck 62-year-old John Tobin’s westbound Toyota sedan.
The truck went airborne and landed on the hood and windshield of 46-year-old Diane Smith’s Ford Taurus, which was behind Tobin’s car. The truck came to rest upside down in the roadway. Gamage was dangling upside down from his seat belt, police said.
Tobin, of Lisbon, suffered a shattered ankle, broken collarbone, dislocated elbow and a knee injury in the wreck. Gamage and Smith, also of Lisbon, did not require hospital treatment.
Since the indictment was handed up, Gamage has been ordered to appear in court to answer the charges.
