AUBURN — Josh Chery scored a game-high 31 points, including going 11-for-14 from the free-throw line, and Central Maine Community College pulled away by a couple possessions in the second half to beat Roxbury Community College 81-72 at Dave Gonyea Court on Saturday.

Malik Farley added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Jordan Dudgeon 11 points for CM, which held a slim 41-38 lead at halftime.

Kevin Agyemang led Roxbury with 28 points and Dabrayl Gardner added 11.

BATES 80, BOWDOIN 74: Stephon Baxter scored 28 points to lead the Bobcats (4-3) past the Polar Bears (7-3) in Lewiston.

Jahmir Primer added 17 points and Simon McCormick scored 14.

Bowdoin was led by Michael Simonds with 22 points and Manav Randhawa with 17.

UMAINE-FARMINGTON 103, MAINE MARITIME 86: Terion Moss scored a game-high 27 points to help the visiting Beavers pull away from the Mariners in Castine.

Will Harriman added 23 points off the bench for UMF and Jack Kane had 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Cameron Gerlach led MMA, which trailed 49-45 at halftime, with 25 points and Markus Ramirez added 22.

QUINNIPIAC 73, MAINE 47: Kevin Marfo had 21 points and 13 rebounds as the Bobcats (6-4) beat the Black Bears (2-6) in Hamden, Connecticut.

Bernie Blunt tossed in 14 points for Quinnipiac and Dezi Jones added 11.

LeChaun DuHart had 11 points for Maine.

ST. JOSEPH’S 78, ELMS 72: The Monks (2-8, 1-2 GNAC) rallied from a 19-point half-time deficit and took the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Nicholas Curtis with 3:22 remaining in their victory over the Blazers (0-9, 0-4) in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Nicholas scored 27 points, including 23 in the second half. Griffin Foley and Asthyn Abbott added 11 points each.

Justin Feliciano scored 15 points, while Tahquell Cadle and Klaytin Silva added 12 each for Elms.

BRANDEIS 69, COLBY 68: Chandler Jones made 1 of 2 free throws with four seconds remaining, lifting the Judges (7-2) over the Mules (6-4) in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Collin Sawyer led Brandeis with 12 points. Jones had 11 off the bench.

Will King paced Colby with 17 points. David Basich scored 15 and Noah Tyson and Jack Lawson each finished with 10.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
CENTRAL MAINE 78, BRYANT AND STRATTON-ALBANY 75: The Mustangs withstood a late charge from the Bobcats to earn the road win in Albany, N.Y.

Lewiston grad Emily Strachan paced Central Maine with 24 points and Eliza Brault added 15.

Saige Roberts scored a game-high 32 points for the Bobcats.

MAINE MARITIME 78, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 35: The Mariners led 35-8 after one quarter and cruised to a North Atlantic Conference victory at Smith Gymnasium in Castine.

The Beavers head into their winter break with a 1-1 conference record, 6-4 overall.

Senior Tia Day (Monmouth grad) led UMF with 10 points, with fellow seniors Alex Bessey (Spruce Mountain) and Page Brown chipping in with six each. Seniors McKenna Brodeur and Molly Folsom paced the Beavers on the glass with five rebounds each. Erianna Moore led the Mariners with 18 points and completed the double-double with 11 rebounds to lead a trio of MMA players in double digits. Lauren Plissey finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Lauren Cook charted 15 points.

Maine Maritime (7-2, 2-0 NAC) opened the game on a 14-0 run, lasting nearly four minutes, before the Beavers got on the scoreboard with a Day 3-pointer. The Mariners went 11-of-19 from the field (.579) with six three-pointers in the opening quarter, while holding the Beavers to 3-of-19 shooting (.158).

COLBY 58, THOMAS 45: Carter McGloon knocked down a 3-pointer to spark a 16-2 run midway through the third quarter as the Mules (8-1) broke the contest open and downed Terriers (1-8) at Waterville.

Keagan Dunbar scored 14 points for Colby, while Carly Christofori added 11.

Kaylee Ravagli led Thomas with 19 points, Edward Little grad Chantal Ouellette added 13 points and Oxford Hills grad Anna Piirainen had 10.

SOUTHERN MAINE 71, CASTLETON 64, OT: Michelle Rowe made five free throws in the final 27 seconds of overtime as the Huskies (3-7, 2-1 Little East) beat the Spartans (5-4, 0-2) in Castleton, Vermont.

Amy Fleming had 18 points for Southern Maine. Rowe scored eight of her 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. She also had 13 rebounds. Franny Ramsdell added 13 points.

Elise Magro had 23 points for Castleton, with Ryleigh Coloutti and Kelly Vuz chipping in with 17 apiece.

ST. JOSEPH’S 80, ELMS 44: Grace Philippon and Hailey Anderson scored 13 points each to pace a balanced attack as the Monks (8-1, 3-0 GNAC) earned their seventh straight win, downing the Blazers (5-3, 2-3) at Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Cassandra Stapelfeld had 12 points for St. Joseph’s. Kaleigh Walsh added 10.

Aiyanlee Lopez and Rahmia Johnston had 11 points apiece for Elms.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY
COLBY 6, CASTLETON 0: Jillian Mazzocca and Tate Senden each had two goals as the Mules (6-1, 4-1 NESCAC) beat the Spartans (5-5-2, 3-3-1) in Castleton, Vermont.

Mattie Tremper and Mazzocca scored in the first period as Colby jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Senden, Mazzocca and Meg Rittenhouse all scored in the second, and Sended add a third-period goal.

Nina Prunster had four saves for Colby, while Marina Mirabella and Kirsten Dicicco combined for 33 saves for Castleton.

MEN’S HOCKEY
BOWDOIN 3, TUFTS 2, OT: Chris Brown scored his second goal of the game, with an assist from Patrick Ault, with 1:40 left in overtime as the Polar Bears (1-4-1, 1-2 NESCAC) beat the Jumbos (1-7-1, 1-4-1) in Medford, Massachusetts.

Cam Newton and Angus Scott had first-period goals for Tufts before Will Forrest scored for Bowdoin to cut the margin to 2-1 at the first intermission.

Jack Gilligan pulled the Polar Bears even midway though the third period to send the game to overtime.
