REGION — It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your state representative in what will become District #83. I have worked hard to represent the citizens of Bridgton, Denmark, and Harrison, having just completed my second term in the Maine State Legislature.
As an Independent, my overarching goal is to represent the people of the district and not be beholden to the rigid structure of the established political parties.
As I promised, I personally sponsored and saw the passage of legislation to promote:
• government accountability
• provide election reform
• protect our environment
I also supported key legislation regarding:
• property tax relief
• tribal/state relations
• homelessness
• veterans
Great news came in the form of the end of the pandemic emergency and the release of federal Covid funds, which helped create a significant state budget surplus. It created opportunities to allocate resources to many pressing needs, including economic relief for families and businesses, healthcare, pollution mitigation, education, food insecurity, and affordable housing.
As your representative, I have helped move this state in a forward and positive direction. However, there is still much to be accomplished. When reelected, I will remain committed to increased accountability and transparency in government and demand responsible spending. With your support, I will continue to make Western Maine the best it can be. I am confident about a promise for a bright future for our families and communities.
I am looking forward to your support for my reelection on November 8. Visit my website: www.walterriseman.com for more information. Please consider making a $5 clean election donation from the link on my website.
Vote Riseman for State Representative for District 83, Bridgton, Denmark, and Harrison on November 8!
