River Arts in Damariscotta plans to open with its annual members’ show, filling the gallery with pieces from 160 participating artists, at 36 Elm St.
The public can meet the artists and view their works at a reception scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 18. River Arts continues to require masks for entry to the gallery.
The show runs through Saturday, July 23.
Artists have selected works that best represent their personal approach. This year’s show presents a bounty of new work from Maine artists, according to a news release from the gallery.
In conjunction with the opening in the main gallery, a duo show is featured in the River Room. Artists Polly McGrory and Wolfgang Busse have arranged their works in a gathering of portraits, seascapes, townscapes, pets, pubs and boats. This show runs until Wednesday, June 29.
River Arts is a nonprofit organization operating through the service of volunteers while the search continues for a part time gallery manager.
