Isaac Parker and Jackson Joyce combined on a five-hitter as the Franklin Flyers edged Bessey Motors of Oxford Hills 3-2 in senior American Legion baseball action Wednesday in Farmington.
Parker tossed five shutout innings before running into trouble in the sixth, allowing both Bessey Motors runs. Joyce recorded the final four outs, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two batters.
Franklin scored one run in the fourth and two more in the bottom of the fifth before Bessey Motors answered in the next frame. Ike Wrigley, Zak Koban and Parker each drove in runs for Franklin, with six different players recording hits.
Nick Binette pitched all six innings for Bessey Motors, striking out four batters and walking four. One of the runs he allowed was unearned. Andrew Merrill produced two hits and an RBI, while Ethan Cutler drove in the other run for Bessey Motors.
