LEWISTON — Ms. Alexis plans to conduct an experiment with balloon balance using beads and buttons during Balloon Bonanza set for 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in the children’s program room on the third floor of Lewiston Public Library at 400 Lisbon St.
Those who attend can create a creature and take it for a ride in a helium “hot air” balloon. Children can come by the library during the week to make a spinning 3-D paper balloon.
Children of all ages and their families are welcome. The events are free and no registration or library card required.
For more information, contact the library at 207-513-3133 or [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
