LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday for Rita Chretien upstairs in the main church at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, following prayers at the Fortin Group Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan March celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Bearers were her son, Roland Chretien, her grandsons, Jason Chretien and his wife, Melissa, Mark Chretien and his wife, Jillian and Kevin Chretien and serving as honorary bearers were her daughter-in-law, Connie Chretien and her only surviving sister, Doris Bureau. A reception was held after the funeral at the Chickadee Restaurant Of Lewiston.
