LIVERMORE — A West Farmington woman was injured Saturday night when the SUV she was driving collided with a Jeep in front of her, which attempted to do a U-turn on state Route 4 and turned into her path.
The driver of the Jeep, Shawn Smith, 50, 0f Rangeley, told Androscoggin County sheriff’s deputies he didn’t realize the SUV driven by Makayla Durant, 24, of West Farmington was behind him. He missed a turn and attempted to pull a U-turn in the middle of the road and drove into the path of Durant’s SUV, according to Sgt. Jon Guay’s report.
Both vehicles were heading north on the road when the crash occurred just before 10 p.m.
Durant was taken by an ambulance with a possible broken wrist to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, according to the report.
Sheriff’s deputies assisted Guay at the scene along with Livermore Fire Rescue Department and emergency medical service providers.
