April Ann Tanguay

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – April Ann Tanguay, 47, formerly of Nashville, Tenn., and Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, following a short illness.

She was born April 1, 1975, in Lewiston. April was the daughter of Joseph and Carol Ann (Colleton) Tanguay.

April graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn and earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine, class of 2000.

For many years April was the State Targeted Response (Opiate) Program Manager at Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

April was loved by all that knew her. She loved spending time with friends and family. She loved animals, especially her cats Jack and Sam. She enjoyed her life’s work by helping others recover from dependency and mental health issues.

She is survived by her father, Joseph Tanguay and stepmother, Doris; her brother, Thomas Tanguay and wife, Dawn; a nephew, Joseph Tanguay, wife, Alyssa and great-nephew, Thomas; a nephew, Calvin Tanguay and companion, Elizabeth White; a niece, Samantha Tanguay; an aunt, Pauline Logan, an aunt, Yvonne Tanguay, an uncle, Raymond Tanguay and numerous other aunts, uncles; and cousins.

April was predeceased by her mother, Carol Ann (Colleton) Tanguay; her beloved nana, Jeanne Berube; and her favorite uncle, Gerard Tanguay.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 1 at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Lewiston.
