TURNER — The following appointments have been announced in SAD 52:

Cynthia Alexander has been appointed principal for Turner Elementary School. Alexander previously served as principal at the Etna-Dixmont School, a position she has held for six years. She also has two years experience as a curriculum coordinator and nine years as a teacher at the school. Alexander is a graduate of Lewiston High School and is looking forward to returning to the area.

Danielle Harris has been named Leeds Central School principal. Harris served in this same role last year in a one-year interim position. Prior to joining SAD 52, she served as assistant principal at Biddeford Intermediate School for three years. Her teaching experience includes nine years at the elementary level in Lewiston and Auburn schools. Harris resides in Lewiston with her husband and two children.

Derek Galway has been named Leavitt Area High School dean of students. Galway began his teaching career and served seven years as a special education teacher at Leavitt. Most recently, he has served as special education teacher and department head at Oxford Hills Middle School. Galway is looking forward to his return to Leavitt.

Susan Pilote has been appointed assistant principal at Tripp Middle School. She served in this role in a one-year position during the 2010-11 school year. Pilote’s teaching experience includes 15 years at Montello Elementary School and six years at Philip Sugg Middle School. She is a resident of Lewiston.
