PARIS — The Paris Public Library is holding a Second Chance used book sale on Saturday, December 3, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Deering Memorial Community Center, located at 39 Main Street, Paris. Having been offered for sale only once before, the sale will feature quality books left over from the library’s summer book sales.
Many of the remainders were best-sellers, and all are in good to like new condition. Like the summer sales, this sale is by donation, where purchasers are just asked to make a donation for the items they select.
Proceeds from the sale are used to purchase new books for the library’s children’s collection. For more information, please call the Paris Public Library at 207-743-6994 or email [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
