Winthrop Maine Historical Society plans to host its second annual Holiday Cookie Walk from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the the Winthrop History and Heritage Center at 107 Main St.
All items will be individually wrapped, packaged in small bags and displayed on a table.
Cookies cost $10 a pound. People can bring bag or basket from home or purchase boxes to fill.
Cookies offered daily are based on volunteer bakers’ donations; variety is subject to change. Those interested in being a volunteer baker can contact Jennifer Phillips for more details via Facebook, message at the history center or by cell/text at 224-588-7034.
All proceeds will benefit the operation of the heritage center. While at the cookie walk, people can visit the center gift shop for last minute holiday treasures and check out some of the history displays.
For more information, contact the society at 207-395-5199 or [email protected], or visit the heritage center.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
