100 Years Ago: 1922

Mrs. Marjorie Saucier, 70 Lowell Street entertained the Waneta Club at its annual Christmas party Thursday evening, making the affair gentlemen’s night. The rooms were beautifully decorated with evergreen and Christmas colors and they were indeed effective. A huge tree in the living room was the feature of the evening.

50 Years Ago: 1972

A gaily decorated community room of the Lake Auburn Towne House provided an appropriate setting for the annual Christmas party which was attended by about 85 residents of the house Thursday evening. Festivities opened with the singing of traditional Christmas carols with Mary Cleveland as pianist and Ruth Ross as director. Santa Claus arrived and distributed gifts among those present. Mrs. Cora Packard, president of the Towne House Association, presented gifts to Harry Woodard, Clarence Lodge, William Jones, Henry Poitras, Barbara Hinckley and Valerie Martin.

25 Years Ago: 1997

Woody Mansur, assistant director of the Edward Little High School Band, lines up the pattern of the paper as he wraps a present Sunday afternoon at the Auburn Mall. Mansur has been organizing the E.L.H.S. Music Association’s gift wrap booth for the last 14 years.
