LEWISTON — No new developments were reported Thursday in the suspicious death of a New Gloucester woman found dead Tuesday in a Main Street apartment building.
Police identified the body Wednesday as that of Danita Brown, 38. Her remains were taken to the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where they were identified. The body reportedly had been in the apartment building for several weeks. The cause and manner of her death had not been released publicly as of late Thursday afternoon.
The renter of the first-floor apartment, through which her remains were recovered, was identified as Bob W. Ryder, 20. He was arrested on a probation hold early Tuesday and since has been held without bail at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
