JAY — The state offers senior lifetime hunting and fishing licenses for individuals 65 and older.

At age 65 the cost of such a license is $50. A combination is $80. The price is reduced from age 65 onward, and at age 70 it is $8 for a lifetime license.

This year, those who were born in 1958 would qualify for a lifetime license. It is not necessary to wait until one’s birthday, apply anytime in the year a person turns 65 or older. Licenses are obtained through the state, according to a news release from Shiloh LaFreniere, town manager.

These licenses can’t be issued at the Town Office at 340 Main St., but forms are available. To download a form, visit maine.gov.
