
In support of a longtime Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club project in Kakamega, Kenya, many attended a fundraising event Jan. 28 in the Winter Pub at Bear Mountain Inn & Barn in Waterford.
President Aaron Hagan said, “We were excited about the turnout of Rotarians from Oxford Hills and lots of local folks and snowmobilers enjoying a beautiful day on Waterford’s snowy trails and its friendly pub. And people generously asked about and donated to our project,” according to a news release from Carol Madsen, rotary member.
The event raised $200, with promises for later, according to Madsen.
Friends of Kenya Rising aims to assist Kenyan students and their families in their rise out of poverty, according to friendsofkenyarising.org.
