PERU — The Elementary School Building Committee will hold a public meeting at the old  Elementary School at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.

The purpose is to brainstorm fundraising ideas to create a financially self-supporting building. Two promising arrangements for long-term leases with local educational institutions have failed to materialize, and a recent vote at a special town meeting to not fund the building has cast doubt on the future of the building as a community center.
