Recently, the Maine Democratic Party launched its “Get Real Maine” tour, which focuses on real people and real solutions. It’s great to see the Maine Democratic Party being proactive and demonstrating its ability to lead.

Mainers are looking for leaders they can trust and who listen to them. Democrats are those leaders.

In 2010, Republicans falsely led Mainers to believe that’s what they were getting in giving them control of the Legislature and the governor’s office. I’m thinking that, perhaps, many people had buyer’s remorse soon after.

Despite the GOP’s talk about jobs and putting people first, I have seen attack after attack on Maine people as Republicans pander to big corporations, lobbyists and campaign donors.

To put it simply — they may have talked the talk about putting people first, but they sure didn’t walk the walk.

The Maine Democratic Party understands that in order to lead, it has to listen. Party members understand that in order to fight against the GOP’s radical agenda that puts the average Mainer last, they have to work as one with the people of Maine.
