PARIS — Teigan Pelletier led top-seeded Oxford Hills to a 72-55 victory over No. 8 Bangor in a Class AA North boys basketball quarterfinal Thursday.

Pelletier scored a game-high 23 points and Holden Shaw chipped in with 16 points for the Vikings (17-2), while Cole Pulkkinen had 12 points.

Wyatt Stevens had 18 points for the Rams (2-17) while Matt Holmes had 12 points and Ryan Ford had 11.

BOYS HOCKEY
FALMOUTH 6, LEWISTON 1: Aaron Higgins scored four times in the Navigators’ (14-2) victory over the Blue Devils (6-10-1) at Family Ice Arena in Falmouth.

Mitchell Ham had four assists while Sam Belliveau had a goal and an assist. Theo Kowalsky also scored and Caden Bernard had three assists.

Brandon White had 18 saves for Falmouth.

Aizyk Laliberte scored in the third period for Lewiston, with Colton Daniels and Ethan Blue setting it up.

Gabe Pomerleau and Ben Cloutier combined to make 28 saves in the loss.

MARSHWOOD/TRAIP/SANFORD/NOBLE 4, FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 4, OT: The Knighthawks (9-6-1) scored twice in the third period to force overtime with the Ice Cats (5-9-2) as the teams skated to a tie at Bridgton Ice Arena in Bridgton.

Thomas Demeroto, Sam Knowles, Ryan Dumont and Ayden Lockard all scored for Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble.

Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills scored all four of its goals in the second period. Kadan Neureuther scored twice and added an assist. Owen Galligan and Cohen Carter each had a goal and an assist.

Benjamin Ott made 27 saves for the Knighthawks and Nathan Metcalf turned away 24 shots for the Ice Cats.

COLLEGE SWIMMING
HUSSON’S HOWE HONORED: Abbie Howe of Lewiston was named the North Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar Athlete in women’s swimming and diving, the conference announced Thursday. Howe, who competes for Husson University, is a criminal justice and psychology major and has been named a six-time honoree on Husson’s President’s List and has earned multiple NAC All-Academic Team selections.

Howe is also a member of two honor societies: Psi Chi (psychology) and Alpha Phi Sigma (criminal justice). She is a member of Husson’s Criminal Justice Club which works to raise awareness of domestic assault. Howe is also a founding member of Husson’s Thrift Club, which actively runs clothes drives for the Husson community.
