Steve Hare of Auburn wades through the shallow water of the Little Androscoggin River where it meets the Androscoggin River in New Auburn Monday afternoon looking for crawfish. “Up in Turner where we used to live, we would catch crawfish in the shallow water and then cast them out in the deeps to catch the really big fish.” After having no luck finding crawfish, his stepson Alex Frost, 8, hooked on a rubber worm to try his luck.
