The Baldhill Bluegrass Boys will play at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Making up the band are Ben DeTroy, mandolin; Chris Ricardi, guitar; Mike Conant, fiddle and banjo; and Tim Clough, stand-up bass. The band mates, who hail from New Gloucester and Auburn, give homage to Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass, and his bluegrass “boys;” but they don’t stick to the traditional. They have been known to pull out a Jimi Hendricks or Led Zeppelin tune. Other influences include The Dead, The Band, Herb Pedersen and Chris Hillman, The Seldom Scene and Hank Williams. No cover. Guthries is at 115 Middle St.
