SOUTH PARIS — There will be a free, three-hour workshop on Sept. 9 for anyone interested in starting a business.

The introductory workshop will walk people through the pros and cons of owning a business, show how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce the many resources available in the Oxford County area and help people decide whether self employment is the right choice.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Western Maine University and Community College Center on Main Street in South Paris. Preregistration is required.
