To the Editor:
Kudos to Janet Willie for the most recent rendition of her Shy, Novice, and Closeted Art Show, which she has produced every July 1 for 19 years. Her unique talent and enthusiasm bring together a broad variety of people and art, creating an ambiance of color and culture that includes not only longtime artists but youngsters, as well.
The evening soiree, which precedes the day of the show is always a delight, providing an opportunity for the artists to schmooze while experiencing a feeling of community, enjoying a bite to eat, a glass of wine, and each other’s art.
Since I have become a part of this tradition, every year is better than the last, and this year was no exception. This wonderful exhibition has become a terrific cultural contribution to the town of Bethel.
