LEWISTON — The Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community, a statewide nonprofit agency, is offering two workshops about the basics of budgeting.

Attendees will learn about the basic components for building a budget. Features will be money tracking, goal setting, challenges, ways to reduce expenses and how understanding a person’s overall financial situation can be helpful in creating a budget that works.

The first workshop is being offered at Turner Adult Education on Oct. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. Call 225-3478 to register (required).

The second workshop is being offered at Mechanic Falls Adult Education on Oct. 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Call 345-3217 to register (required).
