FARMINGTON — A celebration of the life of Bert Jacobs will take place Friday at the University of Maine at Farmington where he taught for nearly 40 years.
The memorial service is planned from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in Nordica Auditorium in Merrill Hall. His colleagues and former students will share prepared remarks. Following the presentations, anyone can share a brief story or memory. The service is open to the public.
In 1972, Jacobs began teaching at UMF, where he worked until July 6.
A teacher, adviser and longtime chairman of the UMF Department of Psychology, Jacobs was also a UMF faculty representative to the University of Maine Board of Trustees.
After the ceremony, everyone is welcome to an informal reception at the UMF Psychology Building, 234 Main St.
