DAMARISCOTTA — Gerard J. Blier, 81, passed away on Oct. 14, at Cove’s Edge.
Gerard was born in Mexico, Nov. 11, 1929, the son of Emile Blier and Josephine (Peters) Blier. He studied ministry in Techny, Ill., but left to enlist in the U.S. Navy. Returning to civilian life, Gerard worked for the Masonic Home in Wallingford, Conn. Missing the military life, he joined the U.S. Air Corps, retiring after 20 years of military service.

Survivors include a sister, Marie Delia Gervais and her husband, Alcide, of Waldoboro; four brothers, Joshua Blier and his wife, Rosa, of North Carolina, Joseph Ernest Blier and his wife, Gloria, of Madison, Edward Blier of Malone, N.Y., and Edmund Blier of Waldoboro; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Noella Bolduc.
During his stay at the Cove’s Edge, he found comfort from the care he received.
