To the Editor:
Once again we would like to say “Thank you” for all that was done to make another great year for Christmas for Families. We wish there was a better way to say it, but just know that every gift helped Christmas for Families to help so many. We have been trying to take care of as many families as possible for over 45 years.
The donations of cash, time, gifts, sleds, and homemade items were overwhelming. We were able to help 43 families, 128 children, parents, and some pets. Some folks that we have helped in the past have helped this year, saying they remember when we were able to help them get through a tough time. We are so blessed to live in such a helpful and giving community!
Thank You to Maine Street Realty for allowing us to use their location for dropping off applications, Brooks Bros., and Le Mu Eats for the fundraisers they did for us. We also thank the Sunday River Community (Bob Rogowsky) who made many trips delivering gifts and cash, Oxford Chapter of United Bikers of Maine for all the wonderful gifts they have brought for many years. We wish we could name everyone who has helped this year. It’s always amazing to see how much everyone wants to help!
Sometimes we have gifts dropped off and do not know who did it. What makes it even more of a miracle is some things show up just as we get a new family and the parent puts down something that the child would like that just arrived! It is like God and Santa Claus are working with us. We can’t help but smile and be excited.
Know that your gift makes a difference!
