LEWISTON — Police say a 14-year-old male was shot in the leg Thursday night in the downtown residential area, and is refusing to cooperate in the investigation.
According to a statement Friday on the Police Department’s Facebook page, about 10 p.m. officers went to 129 Pierce St. for a report of a male suffering from a shotgun wound.
“When police arrived, they located the gunshot victim, a 14-year-old, and began rendering aid. The male was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he remains (with a) non-life-threatening injury,” the statement said. “The 14-year-old is refusing to cooperate with investigators.”
Police said there does not appear to be any threat to the public. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Brian Rose at [email protected].
