AUBURN — Two people were killed in a crash at the Washington Street and Beech Hill Road intersection Wednesday night, according to an Auburn Police Department Facebook post.
A 2016 Honda Odyssey van owned by John F. Murphy Homes of Auburn was attempting to cross Washington Street from Beech Hill Road at 6:56 p.m. when a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck struck the van, killing two adult clients of John F. Murphy Homes, the post said.
A 57-year-old woman was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where she died of her injuries.
A second woman was pronounced dead Thursday morning at CMMC, the post said.
The pickup driver was not seriously injured. No information was provided about the driver of the van.
Identities of the victims are not being released pending family notifications.
The investigation is ongoing and Auburn police are being assisted by Lewiston Police Department with crash reconstruction.
John F. Murphy Homes in Auburn provides services to people with developmental disabilities.
