WOODSTOCK — State police identified a man who was killed and a woman who was injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday on South Main Street and Route 232.
George Dunn, 61, of Oxford was riding his 2015 Harley-Davidson south on South Main Street with passenger Lena Thibodeau, 50, also of Oxford, with a group of motorcycles when he pulled into the passing lane to go by a General Motors pickup truck.
The truck suddenly pulled into the passing lane, Dunn lost control of his motorcycle and left the roadway crashing into a wooded area.
Dunn and Thibodeau were transported to a local hospital where Dunn was pronounced deceased.
Thibodeau was severely injured.
No one else in the group of motorcycles traveling together was hurt.
The truck did not stop and left the area. After review of surveillance footage, police identified the truck and its driver on Monday, but have not yet released a name.
“The person of interest has been identified and the truck located. We are not prepared to release the driver’s identity or any information about the driver,” Oxford County Sheriff’s Maj. Dana Thompson said in a Monday statement. “No charges or arrests have been made and it is likely that this investigation will take some time to complete.”
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office at 207-743-9554.
