WOODSTOCK — The family of  retiring Woodstock Town Manager Vern Maxfield invites the public to join them in wishing him well on Sunday, August 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion, 595 Gore Road, Locke’s Mills, Greenwood.

Maxfield served as town manager for 37 years, from 1988 to 2025. In addition to his work in that role, he spent many evenings and weekends in public spaces—like the American Legion—moderating town meetings throughout the area.

Former Woodstock Town Clerk Tanya Lewis will replace Maxfield as town manager beginning August 1, 2025.
