The 2025-26 school year for staff and students of Rangeley Lakes Regional School kicked off Monday, Aug. 25, with two days of teacher and staff workshops. With everything in place, from class rosters to bus routes, students in K-12 were welcomed back on Wednesday, Aug 27. Preschool students made their way to classrooms for the first time on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Here are some important information to know about the school year.

Dates to know

The school day begins at 8 a.m. Students may not enter the building prior to 7:45 a.m. The school day ends at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and at 2:30 p.m. the remainder of the week.

The last day of school is Thursday, June 11, 2026, unless snow days accumulate beyond the five days already built into the calendar. Graduation for the Class of 2026 will be Saturday, June 6, 2026.

School will not be in session for the following holidays, vacations and teacher workshop days: Oct. 10; Oct. 13; Nov. 11; Nov. 26 to 28; Dec. 22 to Jan. 2, 2026 ; Jan. 19, 2026; Feb. 16 to 20, 2026; March 20, 2026; April 17 to 24, 2026; and May 25, 2026.

Cellphones and other electronic devices

Per the parent student handbook, students are prohibited from using privately owned devices on campus, including hallways and classrooms. Electronic devices must be powered down and stored in backpacks or lockers. High school students are permitted use of personal electronic devices during break and lunch, and only in the cafeteria.

Board of Education

Board of Education meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the school cafeteria beginning at 5:30 p.m. The next meetings will take place Tuesday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Oct. 14. Agendas are posted on the school website in advance of meetings.

Board committees meet monthly, as well. On the first Monday of the month, the Policy Committee meets at 3 p.m. On the second Tuesday of each month, the Facilities Committee meets at 4:30 p.m., and the Finance Committee meets 5 p.m.
