Commander to visit

PORTLAND — American Legion National Commander Fang Wong of New York will make his official visit to Maine on the weekend, arriving in Portland on Friday, Nov. 4.

He will have breakfast at the William R. Bold Post 181, Litchfield, on Saturday, Nov. 5. He will visit the Gardiner post before heading to the Harry J. Conway Post 135 for lunch. Later he will head to the Hallowell post before a banquet in his honor at Emerson Lane Post 132, Richmond.

Potluck supper

LEWISTON — The MS support group meeting Wednesday, Nov. 9, will be a potluck supper to honor caregivers of members of the group. The meal will be held at 6 p.m. at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. For more information, contact Andy Michaud at 784-7927.

Breastfeeding help

AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to a La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 , at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome.

Discussion, “ Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings for Mother and Baby,” will focus on avoiding and overcoming difficulties. All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For more information or breastfeeding help, call the La Leche leader at 782-6645.

Ministry events

TURNER — The Women’s Ministry, 106 Weston Road, will hold a CALM give-away from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8.

A stop-smoking clinic will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 to 17.

A free vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner will be open to the public at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Those attending must register in advance.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners of the annual membership game at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 1 were as follows:
