The Maine Celtics erased a nine-point deficit with a 26-2 run in the third quarter and set a franchise record Wednesday with their ninth straight victory, 112-101 over the Capital City Go-Go in an NBA G League game in Washington, D.C.

Despite taking the court without two-way players Ron Harper Jr. and Amari Williams, Maine remained in second place in the East Division, aided by a career-high 25 points from Max Shulga. The nine-game winning streak eclipses a record set during the 2014-15 season.

Recently signed Keon Johnson added 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Hason Ward and Stefan Todorovic each scored 14 points, and Aaron Scott finished with 10.

Capital City led by as many as 11 points in the first half and was up 71-62 midway through the third quarter before the Celtics got hot from 3-point range. Todorovic capped the run with back-to-back 3-pointers that gave Maine an 88-73 lead going into the fourth.

Skal Labissiere led Capital City with 22 points.

Maine has two games remaining — at Capital City on Friday afternoon and at home against the unbeaten Raptors 905 on Sunday afternoon — before the Winter Showcase in Orlando, Florida, from Dec. 19-22.
