RUMFORD — Rita M. Lizotte, 93, of Franklin Street, died Saturday, Nov. 12, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Rumford on Jan. 3, 1918, a daughter of Joseph and Catherine Gautreau Perry. After the death of her birth mother, she was raised by her father and stepmother, Margaret Perry. She was educated in Rumford schools. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. Rita was very active in the church, singing in the choir for 75 years, and she was also a Eucharistic minister and lector.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and made many homemade baby sets and sweaters, and doilies for her family. She also loved playing beano with her friends at the Concord apartments.

Surviving are four children, Thomas J. Lizotte and companion, Bob Parker, of Portland, Michael E. Lizotte and wife, Susan, of Rumford, Anne Marie Morris of Alberta, Canada, and Cecelia L. Blake and companion, Richie Robidoux, of Friendship; two sisters, Sr. Ida Perry, SSCH, of Marlboro, Mass., and Lorraine Nadeau of Rumford; a brother, Auburn J. Perry of Sun City, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Reynold R. Lizotte, in 1974; a son, Andrew P. Lizotte, in 2005; two daughters, Janie Walker in 1992 and Susan Farrar in 2010; six brothers, William, Armand, Gerard, John, Philip and Alphee; and two sisters, Catherine Glazier and Julie Burns; and a grandson, Shaun.
