Robert Cronin tied the game with 5:43 left in regulation, and Brooklyn Kalmikov got the winner 1:38 into overtime as the Maine Mariners rallied Friday night for a 4-3 win over the Reading Royals in an ECHL game in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Mariners trailed 3-1 before Antonio Venuto started their comeback 8:23 into the third. Cronin’s eight goal of the season forced overtime, and he assisted on the winner by Kalmikov, Maine’s only selection for the ECHL on Jan. 18 in Allen, Texas.
Jacob Perreault scored in the first period for the Mariners. Maine goalie Luke Cavallin made 26 saves.
