DEAR SUN SPOTS: There will be a baked bean supper at Sixth Street Congregational Church at 109 Sixth St. in Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 28,  from 4:30-6 p.m. There will be two kinds of beans, red hot dogs, brown hot dogs, cole slaw, assorted casseroles, assorted desserts and beverages. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and young. — Elizabeth, Auburn

ANSWER: I hope you have a great afternoon for it — with no snowstorms involved!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have some expensive scissors and knives that need sharpening and I’m wondering if you have the names of people in your Rolodex who can do this for me. Thank you, Ms. Sun Spots, for the great work you do for us. — Lucy, Lewiston

ANSWER: In the Rolodex I have: Knifing Around in Topsham (https://www.knifingaround.com/, 807-4716, [email protected]). All services (they also restore cast iron cookware) are by appointment only.

Other options are Complete Sharpening Services in Bridgton ([email protected], 595-3141); Sharpening Plus in Poland ([email protected], 773-2268); Casco Bay Cutlery (https://www.freeportknife.com/, 865-0779, in Freeport, and Now You’re Cooking in Bath (https://nowyourecookingmaine.com/, 443-1402).

You may also want to check with local hardware stores to see if they offer sharpening services. And don’t be shy about asking for recommendations at restaurants you frequent either.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope you can help me. I use my laptop for work and two keys are working only intermittently. Is there a place in the Lewiston-Auburn area where I can get these keys fixed? — No name, Auburn

ANSWER: I had the same issue! On my laptop keyboard, the “X” and “K” were the culprits. The X key was completely shot and the K key only worked sometimes — such a pain!

I had a techie type check out my keyboard and he unplugged the lap top, turned  it upside down and gently shook it, cleaned the keyboard with compressed air, took the caps off the none-working keys, used more compressed air and a Q-tip, put the caps back on again, plugged the laptop back in, and it was all set. There are YouTube videos about this issue if you want to attempt to take care of it yourself.

An IT tech at the library may be able to help you with this. Contact your library and ask if someone could help you.

These are the computer experts I have in the Rolodex: Dustin at D&D Computers (https://dd-computers.business.site/,
[email protected] or 419-9184; The Computer Place (https://www.tcpme.com/, 783-7232; ACS—Action Computer Services in Lewiston (https://www.acs4u.com/, 786-8740), and Buck Buchanan at PCS—Professional Computer Services (http://pro-pc.us/,[email protected], 784-6295.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the question about Dannon Yogurt in the Feb. 18 Sun Spots, I saw it at Shaw’s in Brunswick when I was shopping with my daughter this past Saturday. I also noticed it in the cafeteria at Midcoast Hospital so it’s still around! — No name, Lisbon

ANSWER: Thanks for taking the time to help another Sun Spotter!
