A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving three vehicles Monday evening in Raymond.
Seth Hodgkins, 20, of Greenwood, was driving a motorcycle north on Webb’s Mills Road when he collided with a car driven by Seth Thayer, 23, of Raymond, according to a news release. Hodgkins was ejected from the motorcycle and struck by a second vehicle driven by Christopher Akers, 55, of Casco.
Hodgkins, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The press release did not say whether Thayer or Akers were injured and the sheriff’s office didn’t immediately respond to a message Tuesday asking about their condition.
Hodgkins was an EMT with the Buckfield Fire Rescue Department, according to a Facebook post by Buckfield Rescue Chief Stacy Blaquiere.
“Seth was more than just an EMT — he was a friend, a co-worker, and someone who answered the call to help others without hesitation,” Blaquiere wrote. “His commitment to serving his community and caring for those in need will never be forgotten.”
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Raymond Fire and Rescue Department, responded to the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
