The Maine Trust for Local News has launched Press Herald+, a new mobile app designed to give readers easier access to journalism from across its news organizations in one convenient place.

The app brings together news from the Portland Press Herald, Central Maine newspapers, and the Sun Journal, along with ePaper editions, in a single streamlined experience. Readers can browse breaking news, stay connected to the stories shaping their communities and access the digital ePaper editions they know from print.

Press Herald+ is intended to make it simpler for subscribers to stay informed throughout the day, with a faster, more personalized experience than mobile web browsing alone. By placing Maine’s trusted local news directly on readers’ home screens, the app aims to make it easier to build a daily habit around staying informed.

Press Herald+ also includes new personalization features, allowing readers to customize their news experience with options such as tailoring menu preferences and signing up for notifications on topics they care about most. The app also gives users access to commenting tools, making it easier to join conversations around local stories and engage with other readers.

The launch is part of the Maine Trust for Local News’ broader effort to strengthen digital access to local journalism across the state and better serve readers wherever they are.

The app is now available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
