Drew Callin scored the winning goal with an assist from his brother, Anthony, and an empty-netter from Cam McDonald sealed a 3-1 victory for the Worcerster Railers over the Maine Mariners in an ECHL game Wednesday night at Cross Insurance Arena.

McDonald scored with 11.3 seconds remaining, as his length-of-the-ice shot slowly slid into Maine’s net. Michael Suda assisted on a goal by Matt DeMelis that made it 1-0 midway through the second period and also got an assist on Drew Callin’s goal at 14:45 of the third.

Sebastian Vidmar tallied the lone goal for the Mariners off a feed from Max Andreev on a 3-on-2 rush in the second period. The Mariners (42-20-6-3) were outshot 37-27.

Maine ends the regular season Saturday in Trois-Rivieres. The Mariners will host either the Reading Royals or Adirondack Thunder in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs starting April 24.
