DEAR SUN SPOTS: We have lots of large paper that is perfect for drawing, packaging fragile items, wrapping up bouquets of flowers, pattern making, or just about anything you’d want to do with large paper. There’s a variety of colors and styles and it’s all free. You can take what you need because we don’t want to just toss it in the dump.

We also have lots of ceramic coffee mugs. They are new but do have company names on them. They are also free.

The paper and mugs are available Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at 675 Main St. in Lewiston at Marketplace Mall. Go to the door under the JFM sign. — No Name, Lewiston

ANSWER: This is awesome! If you have paper and mugs left over after your Saturday morning giveaway, please consider donating the paper to an elementary school and children’s center in the area. And perhaps The Drop-in Center at 121 Mill St. in Auburn or another shelter for the unhoused could use the mugs. Let us know how this goes and thank you for thinking of reaching out to Sun Spots regarding these extra items.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for printing Trinity Church’s request to stop leaving donations at the former Jubilee Center location. I had put up a sign, however, there were articles of clothing left after my sign was up Monday, but before your column appeared this morning.

Let’s hope that the people who read your column help to spread the word. Thank you again.— Bob, Lewiston

ANSWER: Please don’t take this as a “scolding” but I as a “reminder.”

Although I doubt it was a Sun Spotter who left items at the church (April 15 Sun Spots) after Bob’s sign went up, I’m requesting that you all help spread the word.

Jubilee Center is no longer in the church basement at the corner of Bates and Spruce streets (across from Kennedy Park). The center is at 123 Bates St. across from the fire station. There is no one at the former Trinity Church location to take in any donations left there.

DEAR SUN SPOTS:  In response to No Name’s TV channels, I live in Auburn and get almost 40 channels Over The Air (OTA) with my “rabbit ears antenna” that cost $30 and cable that costs $30.

Channels 6, 8, 10, 13, 23, 35, and 51 come with piggyback channels. It takes some time to move the antenna around to find the best reception. Also, the TV I have came with about 400 free TV channels and hundreds of free movies as long as you can connect your TV to the internet. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: Our readers with the questions and comments about TV channels in April 5 and 15 Sun Spots don’t have internet but thank you for this advice. If you want to speak with one another, the writer of the letter above has offered to talk with you over the phone if you need more help with figuring things out.

This column is for you, our readers. It is for your questions and comments. There are only two rules: You must write to the column and sign your name. We won’t use it if you ask us not to. Please include your phone number. Letters will not be returned or answered by mail, and telephone calls will not be accepted. Your letters will appear as quickly as space allows. Address them to Sun Spots, P.O. Box 4400, Lewiston, ME 04243-4400. Inquiries can also be emailed to [email protected].
