The New Hope Baptist Church, 268 Perham St., Farmington, will present a Christmas Cantata/Drama titled “The Promised One” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Dec. 17-19. The story follows the Nativity through the contrasting responses of the innkeeper and the shepherds. The scenery and costumes are colorful and detailed. All ages will enjoy the 30-voice adult choir as they perform the beautiful music, a mixture of old and new carols that are both powerful and reflective, with full orchestrated background. A children’s choir will add a special dimension to the approximately hour-long program. For more information call 778-9696. Admission is free. Pictured are, from left, Lydia Doyle, Haven Doyle and Kirk Doyle, playing the innkeeper and his daughters.
