AUBURN — An online survey designed to find out what residents expect in a new city manager is on the city’s website, www.auburnmaine.org.

The previous City Council voted in October to terminate City Manager Glenn Aho’s contract. They hired consultants Eaton Peabody to lead the search for his replacement and to manage the city in the meantime.

Consultants will collect the information from the form and comments from a special meeting Jan. 26 to help councilors determine what levels of job experience, education and qualities a new city manager should have.

The city should begin advertising for the job in February. Applications are due by March 9. The company would give councilors a notebook containing those applications and applicant resumes by March 16.

Councilors would begin interviewing candidates at the end of March, settling on four finalists. Finalists would be invited to meet Auburn residents at another community meeting in April. Councilors would be negotiating with a potential hire early in May.
