FARMINGTON — Police are warning drivers of a planned re-routing of traffic around the Academy-and-High-street intersection on Thursday, March 15.

The intersection will be closed Thursday for the installation of fiber optic lines.

Starting at 7 a.m. until the work is completed, traffic will be re-routed from High Street onto Perkins Street to access Middle Street, and there will be no through traffic available on Academy Street and High Street to or from Broadway. Barricades will be in place.

The Farmington Police Department also wants to remind residents of their plans to move on Tuesday, March 13, to the new building at 116 Franklin Avenue.

While the department is anxious for the public to see the new facility, it wants to remind everyone that moving day is always extremely hectic. Anyone having non-urgent business to conduct at the Police Department is asked to wait a day or two while the department settles.

The current office in the Municipal Building will be open Tuesday for business that needs to be done.
