JACKMAN — Heather Brannen of Poland took first place in the Adult 6_Dog Speed class at the Northeast Championship Sled race on March 4.
Brannen finished the 19.5-mile course with a total time of 1 hour, 4 minutes, 3 seconds.
The event was sanctioned by the International Sled Dog Racing Association and counts toward the international series.
In the same competition, Lara Shepherd of Norway finished fifth in the Adult 4_Dog Speed category, completing the 12.6-mile journey in 1:13.58.
