WILTON — Wilson Lake golf course will open Sunday, one of the earliest openings in the course’s history.

After spending the winter restoring the golf course’s vistas closer to the original 1932 vision for “the best nine in Maine,” management is holding the first annual rake-and-play event, for anyone and everyone in the community on Saturday, March 24.

They are extending an invitation to help them finish cleaning up and they’ll feed participants lunch and do a special advance preview mini-tournament, both for free to those who help. Attendees are asked to bring a rake.

The raking party begins at 8 a.m. Lunch for those who worked will be available around 12:30 p.m. Shortly thereafter, there will be a nine-hole mini-tournament.
